Meet Author Dee Rand
Dee Rand is an author whose creative journey was born from the beautiful adventure of motherhood. A lifelong lover of music, reading, and all things creative, Dee discovered her true voice as a writer after becoming a mother at age 37.
Her inspiration began with the birth of her daughter, affectionately nicknamed “Squish.” From lullabies whispered at bedtime to playful morning songs, Dee found herself turning everyday moments into music. Just 15 months later, her son “Squeam” arrived—doubling the joy and sparking even more creative expression.
Encouraged by a close friend, Dee transformed her heartfelt melodies into stories that celebrate learning, laughter, and love. Thus, the Squish & Squeam series was born—a whimsical world where music and storytelling come together to teach young children about the magic of daily routines.
For Dee, motherhood remains her greatest inspiration and accomplishment. Through her writing, she hopes to show families that it’s never too late to chase your dreams, create something meaningful, and live the life you’ve always imagined.
When she’s not writing or singing new tunes for Squish and Squeam, Dee enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with her family—the heart of every story she tells.
